Girl dressed in kimono

On Thursday morning Siena in Year 4 introduced the children from Nursery to Year 6 to Hina-Matsuri or Girl’s Day, celebrated on the 3rd March each year in Japan. As all the children sat transfixed she explained, in detail, this Japanese tradition. She wore a beautiful Kimono and displayed other Japanese garments and dolls as she spoke confidently and knowledgeably. Some children had the opportunity to try on traditional Japanese dress and all the children were offered a rice cracker as they left assembly. Thank you Siena for teaching us all something new!
