Year 1 trip to animal park

On Tuesday 6th March, Year 3 visited Wildwood in Herne Bay. First of all, we had a workshop on the skeleton which was interesting. We had to label a human skeleton and we looked at some animal skulls and tried to guess which animals they were. After that, we were given a pile of bones to sort and we had to try and build the skeleton of the animal. One group had a porpoise and the other had an otter.

After the workshop we ate our lunch in the picnic area the we had a great playtime on the outdoor equipment.

Following lunch, we had another workshop on ‘Digestion and Poo’! We started by looking at the human digestive system. We couldn’t believe how long the small intestine was! Next, we had to mush up some bread and crackers in a bag and add water using a pipette. This showed us what happens in the stomach.

It was disgusting! Finally, we had to play a game @Whose Poo?’ We had to try to guess which animal each bag of poo belonged to.

It was a great trip and we all really enjoyed it and learnt a lot.
