On Wednesday 5th June the U11 A boys’ team played cricket against Ashford. The weather was nice and sunny, not too hot, perfect for a game of cricket.

Ashford won the toss and chose to bowl first, so I chose the first betting to pair to be Leo Oscar. They managed 22 runs as a pair. Joey and Edward were next with 30 runs, the highest count of the match! Raif and Bertie got 8 runs and Will and I got 25 runs. Then Joey and Oscar batted again with a total of 11 runs. Overall we scored 297 and funnily enough it was the same score as our last match! That it was our turn to field. We got some good wickets and very entertaining catches, taking 7 wickets in total. With Ashford ending on 219 we won convincingly by 78 runs. Man of the match was Oscar for his excellent batting. Well done Oscar and well done team. Let's keep up the good work!

On Wednesday the 5th of June under 11s b team played Ashford.

We lost the toss so we batted first.

Alex and I made a good start and by the end of our overs we scored 13 runs. Then it was Liam and Seb’s turn to bat. They made a solid start and got a few runs. There was some tight moments but they didn’t get out.

Next up were Emanuel and Magnus who had a strong beginning but unluckily got 2 wickets, which they earned back by getting some runs.

Because Ashford had more players than us we had to go again. I chose the players – Alex, Gilbert and me. Gilbert and I were up first. Now we were on 250 runs we were hoping to get some more but we unluckily got out a few times.  The score was

271 at that point. Next it was Alex and Gilbert, playing well to take us up to 290 runs.

Ashford played well but with Alex getting one wicket and Liam getting an out and me getting 2 wickets it was a close one to call. With a few minutes left we were all trembling thinking that they would win.

Then we heard the whistle -  we had won!

The final score was 290 to 283

We have all improved since our last match. The boys and I have nominated Liam as our man of the match -  well done Liam and well done team.
