On 11th October the U9 Boys A Team played in the Ashford Prep Football Tournament.
In our first game we started slowly and narrowly lost 1-0 to Sutton Valence. In our next game we beat Ashford Prep 1-0 thanks to good passing and a great goal from Dylan.
The last game in the group stage was against Kingsnorth. Lorenden made pressure and forced a number of good saves from the Kingsnorth goalie. The match ended in a 0-0 draw.
Our performances took Lorenden through to the finals stage where we faced Marlborough House, finally losing on penalties after a well contested match. We need to work on our penalty skills.
The Lorenden defence of Thomas and Ashwin performed strongly in all matches Man of the Tournament goes to Sembeh for his excellent saves and long goal kicks.
