On 15th November Lorenden U9 A team played Spring Grove at home. We won the kick off and we made some excellent tackles, especially Ashwin and Thomas from our defence. Spring Grove passed the ball around well and quickly got the first goal making the score 1-0. We quickly made pressure up the pitch with Dylan scoring a great goal into the back of the net. Sembeh made some great saves and long goal kicks.
Tom scored next with a brilliant shot into the corner of the net from the half way line, bringing the score to 2-1. Spring Grove worked hard to get the ball into our half, but our defence worked even harder to keep the ball out. Next I scored a goal from outside the box into the bottom corner of the net. The score was 3-1 making our team feel more confident about the match, although we were a bit worried when Spring Grove scored again just before half time bringing the score to 3-2.
After half time, Spring Grove scored a great goal from a cross from one of their best players. Unfortunately, Thomas B was hit by the ball in the chest and had to be replaced with Rufus. This was followed by an unlucky own goal bringing the score to 3-4 to Spring Grove. We were determined to score again and Dylan managed an excellent run down the pitch and scored one more just before the final whistle. The final score was 4-4.
Man of the match goes to Tom M for hard work and determination which he has shown throughout the season. Well done Tom and well done team.
