Lorenden U9 A Football Team v Ashford and Spring Grove at home on Thursday 12th September.
The first match was against a strong Ashford side. Xavier started well in goal after some strong attack from Ashford but took a bad hit causing injury and had to come off replaced by Ben in goal and James on pitch. There were some excellent saves by Ben in goal assisted by George in defence. Milo and Henry scored assisted by Rufus and Daniel. James kept a good clean midfield but the end score was 8 – 2 to Ashford. Man of the match was Ben for great goal keeping.
Next we played V Spring Grove. Xavier was back in with great saves. There was pressure from the opposition but lots of great passing and unlucky shots from Lorenden. We found our Team Spirit, pushed ahead and Henry managed to score a goal after a missed Spring Grove corner block. Final score was 5 -1 to Spring Grove. Man of the match was Xavier for excellent saves.
James, Team Captain
On Thursday 12th September the U9 B team played football against Spring Grove and Ashford Prep. For our first match against Ashford we played well. Ethan saved some goals and the score was 4-2 for us. I scored the two goals. The next match was against Spring Grove which we won. It was hard work and the end score was 1-0 to Lorenden. Player of the Match was Josh. Well done all.
