On Thursday 21st November the U9 boys had a triangular match against Spring Grove and Ashford Prep. First we were up against Spring Grove who were quite a strong team. We won the toss and chose to attack. I passed the ball to Daniel who managed to dodge the players and score our first try. Now it was our turn to defend but, unfortunately, Spring Grove managed to get a sneaky try. The final score was 8-3 to Spring Grove.
We learnt from our match and gained confidence from an inspiring talk from Mr Waitt and soon found ourselves on the pitch for our second match. We again won the toss and this time we chose to defend. Ashford whizzed up the field and tried to score a try but our defence managed to stop them. I tackled the ball from an Ashford player and I passed to Rufus who showed his amazing skills and got a try. The final score with 10 - 3 to Ashford. Man of the match was Rufus for amazing defence and attack. Well done Lorenden. Better luck next time!
