U9 girls' hockey tournament 21.11.2019

On a cold, damp afternoon, Lorenden under 9 hockey team travelled to Junior Kings School to play in a tournament.

Seven schools competed in the ‘round robin’ tournament which meant we played everyone - 6 matches in total.

We started well against a strong Ashford team and the match ended in a 2:2 draw.

Next we played Junior Kings which was another great match. Unfortunately a last minute goal was disallowed which meant the end result was another draw - 1:1.

Our third match was fantastic against a good St Lawrence team. Our first win - 2:0!

Up next was a really strong Sutton Valence. We battled hard, but lost 2:1 after they scored a last minute goal.

Next up came Kent College. We were evenly matched and again were unlucky that they scored another last minute goal. End result - 1:1.

Our final match was against St Faith’s. We had so many attempts at goal but luck wasn’t with us and the end result was 0:0.

All of the girls played fantastic hockey and we just missed out on a medal, coming 4th overall.

Well done team - a great hockey season.
