On Thursday 10th October we played Spring Grove at Ashford Hockey Club. We were hoping to keep our good play going from our other matches.

We started very strongly and went on the attack straight away.  The team did lots of great passing and everyone tried their hardest.  By half time we were winning 9 – 0 and had scored some good goals.  The second half was a bit closer but we still managed to score two more goals to win 11 – 0.

Player of the Match was Beatrice for her good defending.  Our goal scorers were Faith with 2, Evie with 2 and me with 7.  Well played team and well done Beatrice.

We played Spring Grove in a match of two halves, split between the A and B team. The A team played first, and the B team second.

When the B team took over at half time, the score was 6-1 to Lorenden.  Spring Grove started with the ball but Emily’s tackle took this away, up to Faith, who scored. Spring Grove fought back but Holly ran super-fast and made some great tackles to stop them scoring.  After a team talk from Mrs Cornell and a switch around of players, it was Spring Grove’s centre and they drove the ball up towards to goal. Beatrice and I stopped some great shots and the ball was soon taken away by Faith, who passed to Maiya who took it to Emmeline.  It then went back to Maiya and up to Faith who scored her second goal.

Lorenden carried on playing really well with Faith scoring a hat trick, Beaulieu working hard sprinting all over the pitch in mid field until the final whistle blew.  The score at the end was 9-1 to Lorenden.

Spring Grove nominated Beatrice as player of the match and we also nominate Faith.

Great second half B team, thank you Mrs Cornell, Mrs Uttley and the parents cheering on the side line.
