On Thursday the 14th of February 2019, the under 9s A team played a Netball Tournament at Kent college Canterbury.  We played 8 teams in total.

The first match we played was against Kent College. They got first Centre pass and got it down the pitch, but luckily our great defenders Sophie and Ludo got the ball off them and made a great pass down the pitch so Mollie and Grace could score through the hoop. The final score was Lorenden 3 and Kent College 2.

The next team we played was King’s School Rochester. In this match we played really well against some very tall players. We seemed to pass and find space. Again our defence was brilliant, and our Shooters were on fire - hardly missing at all. The result was Lorenden 5 Kings Rochester 2.

Next we played Junior Kings. We were a force to be reckoned with in this match, every position played very well. The result was Lorenden 5 Junior Kings 0.

Next up was St Lawrence and they were a smashing team. We were getting a bit tired but we all pulled together to make this hard match a draw - Lorenden 2 St Lawrence 2.

Ashford were our next opponents, with a brilliant, strong team. There seemed to be more of them than us! We kept going after having some chocolate in the break and with strong defence again we tried our best but, unfortunately, the score was Lorenden 4 Ashford 5.

We played Spring Grove next and we found some energy from somewhere with our great defence from  Sophie and Ludo again and some amazing shooting from Grace and Mollie. Caitlin did some excellent marking and Nuala did some great passing. The final score was Lorenden 3 Spring Grove 2.

It was getting colder now and our next opponent was Wellesley House. We did some strong passing and managed a win Lorenden 3 Wellesley 1.

Our last game was against a very strong St Faiths. They were fast and furious to start with scoring a quick 3 goals in a row. We found our feet and with some excellent passing and marking and managed to draw Lorenden 6 St Faiths 6.

This was an excellent tournament and the A team tried their best throughout the day.

Player of the day was Grace for exceptional shooting!  Well done Grace and well done team.
