On Wednesday 27th March the U11 boys played hockey against St Lawrence.  We travelled to the coast to try and keep our unbeaten record alive on St Lawrence’s sandy pitch.  We started the game well and created some good chances to score but unfortunately their goal keeper made some good saves.  We fought hard to keep in the game, but St Lawrence attached and scored a goal.  They were now putting us under a lot of pressure and despite our best efforts they scored four more goals to leave us 5-0 down at half time.

Mr Waitt had some strong words with us at half time and gave us some good ideas.  We started the second half really well, doing some good passing and playing the balls to the wings.  We managed to score a goal with Joey making a great pass to me and I hit it in the corner. We tried really hard to get some more goals, but as we pushed forward St Lawrence broke away and scored again.  The final score was 6 -1  to them.  A tough game but lots of good play.  Well played team.

On Thursday 28th March Lorenden U9 Boys A team played St Lawrence College away.

We started well with an attack down the right wing, a good cross and a goal from Liam bringing the score to 1-0.  Soon after, St Lawrence passed the ball to their best player who set up a goal for his team, bringing the score to 1-1.  Unluckily, St Lawrence scored one more goal bringing the score to 2-1 at half time.

In the second half we played well and created some good chances but failed to score.  Our defence worked hard and kept the ball out of the D.

The final score was a 2-1 win for St Lawrence College.

Player of the match goes to Ashwin for his excellent defending.  Well done Ashwin and well done team.
