By Lauren & Hazel
On Monday the 13th of May, Lorenden school year 6 pupils set off on their residential to Norfolk Lakes. The journey was long and surprisingly tiring but we had a nice stop at a budgens petrol station where we all took a loo break. Shortly after this we went for lunch at a park and stayed there for about an hour. We all had some sausage rolls and crisps (ready salted Walkers!) and a kitkat, some orange juice and either a piece of fruit or a fruity pot (pineapple or orange) . We played some games:
-
Duck Duck Goose
-
Piggies in the middle (which was played with Eva’s tennis ball)
-
40 40 Bunker
-
Hide and Seek
When we finally arrived at Norfolk Lakes we were shown to our boys and girls next door rooms. Our dorms were actually next to the ‘Crate Stack’ activity which sadly we didn’t go on… anyway, when we had unpacked a bit with the sun shining on us even in our rooms, we practised for a fire alarm and lined up next to our group numbers. We soon put on suncream and started for our first activities!
Group 12 (Lauren was in this) went to Archery and then Air Rifle. Group 13 (Hazel was in this) Did Air Rifle and then Archery. Dinner consisted of A choice of chicken in sauces with a soup finished with Ice cream for pudding.
The girls certainly had a very energetic night with a lot of moving around. Well 3 of us switched rooms and someone slept on the landing…
Day 2
It was the morning before we knew it and everyone went to the food hall for breakfast. We saw the archery which was next to the dinning hall. Breakfast was fabulous! We had a choice of sausages, bacon and hash browns
Then for the rest of the day we did water sports and we had lunch half way through. We all had a fun time and on the last night we had lots of sweets from the tuck shop.
Day 3
Then we had breakfast and then we had the last 2 activities were compass work and orientering then we had a long trip back and arrived back at school at 4 o’clock. A great time was had by all.
