On Friday 8th February 2019 we visited Canterbury Cathedral, as we have been studying pilgrimages, and thousands of people had travelled to Canterbury Cathedral.

We arrived and were welcomed by a very nice lady called Tracy. She showed us around Canterbury Cathedral and told us some great but gruesome stories such as how Thomas Becket, an archbishop, was killed as Henry the second supposedly said “Will no one rid me of this troublesome priest?”

We also learnt that Thomas Becket's coffin had disappeared mysteriously on Henry the eighth's orders and it has never been seen again. There is also supposed to be a ghost living in the crypt which we all found interesting.

After that we had lunch before parading upstairs and having a fun workshop in which we made homemade pilgrimage badges and carved our names into a block of stone. Sadly though it was time to go but we had had a wonderful time whilst it had lasted.
