On Thursday 17th October the U9 girls’ hockey team went to Kings in Canterbury. We won the toss and had centre pass. At first we pushed up but they stopped it with some good tackling. Not long after Lucy managed to score a great goal. Kings did not give up, and we did not give up, so five minutes later I crossed the ball and River scored.  When the whistle was blown for half-time the score was 4-1 to us.

In our team talk from Mrs Cornell told us to pass the ball hard and to shoot and defend very well.  In the second half they got the first centre pass and had become stronger at passing and better at defending and they managed to get into the D.  Maiya hit it out and I got the ball and we got the ball into their D. Fortunately, they did not score another goal so the final score was 4 - 1 to us.  The Player of the Match was Maiya for great defending. Well done to everyone.

On Thursday 17th October U9 B team played Junior Kings away. Kings won the toss and chose first pushback. Holly made an amazing tackle and passed to Faith who scored one of her four goals. Kings decided to fight back hard so I had to make plenty of saves.  A quick pass was made to Bea who shot the ball into the goal.

Emmeline cleverly passed to Beulieu who scored her important goal just before half time.  After a team talk from Mrs Uttley, we came out and played skilfully scoring more goals for Lorenden. The final whistle blew and the end score was 7-0 to Lorenden. Well done to our players of the match Emmeline and Bea, and well done team. Keep up the good work.
